Greg Fox
Greg Fox, Executive Director

Greg Fox comes to Alta Oakridge after serving as an Executive Director with Capital Senior Living, Sunrise Senior Living and Southern Assisted Living. As an Executive Director he prioritizes building a strong sense of community, team training and empowerment, clarity of mission and authentic relationships. He enjoys hiking, reading political biographies and historical non-fiction. His educational background includes a B.A. in Political Science and a Masters of Theology. Greg enjoys time with his wife of 19 years, Missy, and their four children.


Mary Kopecky
Mary Kopecky, Business Office Manager

Mary joined the team at Alta Oakridge in November, 2011.  Her work history has prepared Mary well for this role.  She has worked in various Human Resource departments for companies such as Nestle, Sherwin-Williams and Bell and Howell.   She also has over ten years of experience working in the corporate office of two senior living companies - Southern Assisted Living and Bell Senior Living.
Mary moved to Raleigh in 1996 from Cleveland, Ohio.  Her husband of 37 years, Roland, has been employed at IBM since 1973.   She currently has two grown children (Roland 3 and Andrea) and one grandson (Roland 4), two “bonus” grandchildren (Autumn and Andrew - from son-in-law’s first marriage) and will become a grandmother again next July.
Mary enjoys spending her free time with her family, cooking…and cruising.  She’s been on 14 so far and would name her favorite cruises as the ones to the Panama Canal and Alaska.
 


Joyce Wright
Joyce Wright, Director of Sales and Marketing
Joyce Wright, the Director of Sales and Marketing, joined the Alta Oakridge team in October 2009. Prior to joining the Alta Oakridge team, Joyce helped lead a successful lease-up campaign at Alta Walk as the Marketing Assistant and then Move-in Coordinator. Alta Walk is Alta Oakridge's sister community in Durham, NC. 
 
Joyce brings passion and knowledge in caring for seniors, which has been evident in her nearly 20 year career in the senior housing industry. She has won numerous awards and recognitions for her exceptional customer service skills and sales abilities. She resides in Durham with her husband Rodney, son Rodney Orion and family dog "Lucky".  And by the way.....She is a Tarheel!

Eric Wicker
Eric Wicker, Director of Food & Beverage

Eric began his culinary career at the age of 15 in his mother’s restaurant. He later began work as a prep cook at Falsetta’s, an Italian restaurant in Lansing, Michigan, where the chefs quickly recognized his talent. From that point, Eric sharpened his skills by moving from one high quality kitchen to another culminating in prolonged periods at the University Club, North Ridge Country Club, and the Carolina Country Club. To the benefit of our residents, he joined Alta Oakridge in 2009 where he began as the Executive Chef and later was promoted to Director of Food and Beverage in July of 2011. In this position Eric has enjoyed using his years of experience to provide the best quality cuisine to the residents of Alta Oakridge. Eric is most proud of his three children- Catherine, age 2, Eric, age 9 and Anna-Lynn, age 11. Apart from work He spends his time playing with his kids, fishing, listening to music and watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers!


Jerry Hurt
Jerry Hurt, Director of Maintenance

Jerry brings a wealth of experience to Alta Oakridge having served as Director of Plant Operations at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, Facility Manager at Louisburg College, Director of Engineering at the Oaks of Carolina and as Facility Manager at Wake Med.
Early in his career, he worked for the City of Durham as a Maintenance Engineer.  
His father was a local builder and his brother served as maintenance director at the Bryan Center.   Jerry lives with his wife and 3 children in Creedmoor, along with their 3 dogs, 5 puppies and 3 horses. With his devotion to family, work, and the residents of Alta Oakridge, Jerry fulfills a significant role as our Director of Maintenance.

 


Ken Heimann
Ken Heimann, Facilities Manager

Ken was born in Peru…Indiana!  He moved around a lot and has lived in Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Washington, Ohio and Germany.  He went to school in Texas and right out of high school at the young age of 17 years old, enlisted into the United States Air Force.  In the Air Force, Ken was a Refueling Specialist and served from 1977-1981.  He was stationed in Tacoma, Washington at McChord Air Force Base.  Prior to joining the Alta Oakridge team, Ken obtained 15 years of experience in retail as well as 15 years experience in residential construction.  Ken has been married to his wonderful wife, Christina for 19 plus years and they have four children (two boys and two girls) and two grandchildren!  Ken enjoys fishing (when he has time), sports in general and coaching soccer.  Ken & his family have a German-Shepherd named Jackie.  When asked why he enjoys working at Alta Oakridge he stated that he enjoys making the residents happy and providing the highest of customer satisfaction!


Kelly Schilling
Kelly Schilling, Activities Director

Kelly Schilling, a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia, joins the Alta Oakridge team with over eight years of experience in developing and facilitating Recreation & Leisure programs for older adults.  Kelly studied Recreational Therapy in college and also met Evan, her husband whom she married in July 2003.  They moved from Missouri to North Carolina in 2006 and Kelly began working for Wake Med Hospital as a Recreational Therapist and Clinical Aide.  From there she went to work at an independent senior retirement community in Raleigh as the Director of Activities for two years.  Prior to joining the Alta Oakridge team, Kelly was a Program Coordinator in an assisted living memory care community.  Kelly's greatest desire is creating and delivering meaningful and purposeful programs for the population she is serving.

 Kelly and her husband have one son, Owen who was born in March 2008.  They also have a spunky beagle named Boomer. Kelly enjoys staying fit, traveling, scrapbooking, shopping and spending time with her family.  She is excited to begin a new chapter in her life and see why Alta Oakridge is the greatest place to live!
